Students From a School for the Blind Try Their Hand at Weaving at Okinawa World; They Made Adjustments to Accommodate Visually Impaired Students and Worked Together to Complete One Piece.
[Nanjo] Five students from the junior high school division of Okinawa Prefectural School for the Blind visited a traditional house over 90 years old located within Okinawa World in Nanjo City on the 12th and experienced traditional weaving. This was part of Okinawa World's 55th anniversary celebration. To make weaving easier for those with poor eyesight, they used extra-thick weft threads as thick as a thumb and wide felt threads.
