Fire causes heavy damage to home on Montrose Road

A house fire in Sidney Ward in Quinte West caused extensive damage on Monday. Crews responded to a two-alarm fire at a home on Montrose Road around 4:30 pm. The road was closed for several hours while Quinte West Firefighters dealt with a very large and stubborn fire. Damage is estimated at $600,000. Structure fire closes Montrose Road

The City of Quinte West says a structure fire has closed off Montrose Road between Old Stone Road and Richards Way until further notice. Emergency crews are on scene, and residents are being asked to avoid the area. Notice will be issued when the road has reopened.
