Strategy Raises $334M Through Stock Sales but Buys No Bitcoin
Strategy used most of the proceeds to repurchase STRC shares, fund dividends and add about $150 million to its U.S. dollar reserve.
- Bitcoin treasury firm Strategy raised $333.7 million last week through the sale of 3.46 million MSTR shares between Aug. 10 and Aug. 16, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
- Proceeds from the sale funded $52.4 million in STRC dividends and $132.2 million in repurchases of the same preferred security during the week.
- With no Bitcoin purchases or sales during the week, Strategy's reserve remained at 840,447 BTC while $149.1 million was added to its USD reserve.
- Strategy's total USD reserve reached $4.8 billion as of Aug. 16, extending its duration to 2.8 years, with $1 billion available under its MSTR repurchase program.
- MSTR shares rose 1.3% in premarket trading while Bitcoin gained more than 1% to trade near $63,500, though STRC was down 0.12% according to Yahoo Finance.

“No bitcoin purchases or sales were made this week,” Strategy said in a Form 8-K filed Monday.
