A 44-year-old woman was sentenced to eight years in prison this Thursday by the Bas-Rhin assize court. Since Tuesday, she was tried for "death-causing neglect" of the newborn she had just given birth.
On Thursday 19 June, the Bas-Rhin assize court sentenced Géraldine Stecher to eight years in prison. Since Tuesday, she was tried for letting her baby die in the toilet while she had just given her life. Next to her, Michel Muller, her friend who assisted her during the delivery, was sentenced to three years in prison with a suspended sentence.
