Stormzy Fined for Using Phone While Driving £400,000 Ferrari
The rapper admitted setting a route on his phone and received three penalty points after a judge added costs and a victim surcharge.
Rapper Stormzy was fined £866 at Croydon Magistrates Court for not having proper control of his £400,000 Ferrari Purosangue after admitting to using his phone to enter a map location while in stationary traffic last November.
Metropolitan Police constable Glen Lambert spotted the driver typing into a map application, noting he was "distracted and no longer in proper control," prompting the stop near Stormzy's Kingston home.
Magistrate Lynn Keane imposed a £533 fine, £120 in costs, and a £213 victim surcharge; the Single Justice Procedure on May 7 added three penalty points to his licence.
This conviction marks the second time the musician has been penalised for phone use while driving; in January 2025, Stormzy received a nine-month driving ban after police caught him using a phone in West Kensington.
Court data shows 1,195 motorists were prosecuted in the last month for similar mobile phone or control offences, resulting in 58 driving bans and fines totalling almost £180,000 across the region.
