NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM) — The Sheriff asks that people avoid driving around damaged areas as numerous emergency vehicles are tending to downed power lines and trees.

It was a rocky morning south of Joplin as a severe storm rolled through the Neosho area Tuesday morning.
