Stepmother, 2 Sons Arrested in Sara Graham Disappearance, Death, Sheriff Says
Authorities say the 65-year-old stepmother faces murder and evidence charges as investigators expand the cold case into a homicide probe.
On Thursday, June 25, 2026, Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins announced the arrests of Connie Graham, her two sons Bobby McLellan and Luke Locklear in connection with the 2015 murder of 18-year-old Sara Graham.
Sara Graham vanished from her Fairmont home on Feb. 4, 2015, and was legally declared dead on June 1, 2026; that ruling transformed the missing person investigation into a homicide case, enabling new investigative methods.
Connie Graham faces first-degree murder charges and was denied bond, while McLellan and Locklear were each held on a $1 million bond; arrest warrants allege the suspects destroyed evidence including a bed, clothing, and home flooring.
Sheriff Wilkins stated the arrests bring accountability "one step closer for those involved in a young woman's death," while the FBI continues offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to Sara's remains.
Authorities continue searching for Sara's body as the investigation remains active; anyone with information is asked to contact the Robeson County Sheriff's Office at 671-3100 or the FBI's Charlotte Field Office at 672-6100.
