By SARA VANDEN BERGE The Stephenville City Council on Tuesday called for a special election to vote for the city’s next mayor following last week’s resignation of Doug Svien. The election to fill the remainder of Svien’s term, which ends in May 2026, will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
