Stephen Colbert is back on TV on community access in Michigan along with rocker Jack White
On Friday night, Stephen Colbert returned to the Monroe, Michigan, public access program 'Only in Monroe', exactly 24 hours after recording his final episode of 'The Late Show' on CBS.
Colbert previously hosted the community access show in the summer of 2015, just before succeeding David Letterman as host of the network program on CBS.
The hourlong broadcast featured Michigan-centric jokes and interviews, with actor Jeff Daniels and musician Jack White joining as the volunteer music director.
Surprise appearances included actor Steve Buscemi, rapper Eminem, and comedian Byron Allen via FaceTime, while the program concluded with hosts destroying the set in a dumpster.
Colbert joked about his 'excruciating 23 hours' without television and noted plans to attend his brother's wedding in Washington, D.C., over the Memorial Day weekend.
24 hours after his last appearance at CBS, Stephen Colbert moderated the »Only in Monroe« show in Michigan. In the end, he and guests dismantled the set of the show.
