Stanford serial killer pleads guilty to murdering librarian

Summary by Ground News
The body of Leslie Perlov, 21, was found in hills that overlook Stanford's campus on February 16, 1973. A floral scarf was tightly knotted around her neck and had been used as a ligature to strangle her to death, prosecutors said. The homicide investigation to catch Perlov's killer went cold for 45 years until a criminalist with the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office matched DNA found under her fingernails to John Arthur Getreu. He was formally charged with the young woman's murder in 2018.
