U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staffing troubles have forced a Lake Oologah campground to temporarily close to the public.

The United States Army Corps of Engineers announced Friday that it would be closing three recreation areas around Black Butte Lake beginning May 19. Insufficient staffing was cited as the cause for the closures. Staffing issues close Black Butte Lake campsites for the season

Black Butte Lake will temporarily close three recreation areas starting May 19 due to staffing shortages. Buckhorn, Eagle Pass, and Orland Buttes campgrounds are affected. Refunds for existing reservations will be processed automatically.
