Fire ban issued for western Labrador
Effective immediately, there is a fire ban in effect for the Labrador West region. The ban is in place due to the dry, hot temperatures in the area. The fire risk is serious. Forest vegetation is very dry and fires will start easily, burn vigorously, and challenge fire suppression efforts. Burning Permits are suspended, open fires including campfires are prohibited and industrial activities may be restricted.
Provincial fire ban expanded
Fire bans have been expanded in Saskatchewan. The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency expanded the provincial fire ban to include all vacant Crown land, provincial parks located within the provincial forest, and the provincial forest, including the Northern Saskatchewan Administrative District. The ban applies to open fires, controlled burns, and fireworks in the designated boundary.

As wildfires continue to burn across the north some highways have been closed, the existing fire ban has been expanded, and a smoke advisory has been issued across much of the north. There are 21 fires burning across the province on Tuesday according to the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency.
