Marijke Groenewoud has booked her first victory of the season in the mass start at the World Cup races in Heerenveen.
Heerenveen (Netherlands) - Speed skater Metoděj Jílek finished sixth in the mass start event at the World Cup in Heerenveen and moved up to eighth in the overall standings. Nikola Zdráhalová finished second in the 500-meter race in Division B and will have a chance to compete in the elite Division A in Hamar next week.

The 29-year-old Czech representative clocked a time of 38.34 in the Thialf hall, falling just 24 hundredths of a second short of her personal best.
