The European Commission places Spain as the Member State in which fiscal pressure has increased the most in the last decade. With an increase of 2.9 percentage points of GDP between 2015-2019 and 2020-2024. This development was mostly driven by the increase in tax collection on labour. That is what the Annual Tax Report 2026, published on Friday by the Community Executive, states.
