South Western Railway are trialling satellite technology to improve Wi-Fi speeds

The railway will test it on routes between London Waterloo, Portsmouth and Weymouth. Data reveals commuters on board spend 289 hours a day in virtual meetings and sending 407,000 emails every day. Early testing results have been promising, with coverage rates of 97% achieved so far. The upgrade delivers speeds up to 20 times faster than traditional mobile network connections.
