- District Judge Miss Joanna Matson described the pollution as "horrendous" and "very significant," warning that "incidents of pollution by water companies will not be tolerated and must be taken very seriously by these courts."
- South West Water apologized for its past record and committed to a £760m investment plan to achieve cleaner rivers and seas across the region by 2040, a decade ahead of national targets.
