The U.S. Air Force is doubling its F-15EX Eagle II procurement from 129 aircraft to 267 — enough to operate 13 squadrons of 21 aircraft each. The USAF’s fiscal 2027 budget adds 24 F-15EXs next year at a cost of $3 billion. The aircraft carries 29,500 pounds of weaponry across 23 hardpoints — more than any U.S. fighter in inventory — including up to 12 AIM-120 AMRAAMs or up to 22 missiles with AMBER racks.
