"It's done," the Prime Minister announced in a publication on X. "It's not conceivable that they can benefit for life because of temporary status," wrote Sébastien Lecornu.
"The French cannot be asked to make efforts if those who are at the head of the state do not do so," the new Prime Minister said this weekend in an interview with the regional press.

The Prime Minister announced this on Monday night on X. Police protection will be granted to former Prime Ministers and Ministers of the Interior for a limited period of time.
The Prime Minister wishes to put an end to the lifetime benefits granted to former heads of government. Seventeen of them still benefit, at an annual cost estimated at €4.4 million.
