- Unanswered questions about Guzmán López's plea coincide with unrest in Mexico's Sinaloa state as the court document did not specify his plea and Jeffrey Lichtman did not immediately comment.
- The brothers are accused of assuming their father's former role as leaders of the Sinaloa cartel while Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán is serving a life sentence after his 2019 conviction, a court document said.
