Some Copies of Pomona Recreation Guide Show Porn Images, City Investigating
City officials said only 2 copies have been confirmed, and the city suspended distribution while investigating how eight pages of adult-content ads were included.
On Monday, Councilman Victor Preciado confirmed that residents discovered pornographic images inside Pomona's summer recreation guide, prompting city officials to launch an immediate investigation.
Pomona typically mails more than 22,000 copies of the guide featuring youth and senior programs, but Assistant City Manager Mark Gluba noted some contained eight pages of unauthorized, inappropriate material.
Gluba is coordinating with the Pomona Police Department and the US Postal Inspection Service to investigate, while print vendor US Printing denied responsibility, leading officials to explore if a rogue actor created the material.
City officials apologized, stating: "We sincerely apologize to our community, especially to families and children who may have been affected," and suspended further distribution of the physical guide.
Residents seeking the intended recreation guide can access the digital edition on the city's website, which remains free of inappropriate content as officials work to restore damaged public trust.
