- FIFA held identification camps in Australia and England, calling 70 players before coach Pauline Hamill named a 23-player roster for Afghan Women United, which cannot yet represent Afghanistan officially.
- The match produced a lone goal for the refugees but highlighted off-field obstacles as Manozh Noori scored the penalty, and FIFA moved the tournament to Morocco last week after denying entry to UAE.
