President Lai Ching-te will visit the Kingdom of Eswatini, an African ally, from April 22 to 27. The Somaliland Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted on the social media platform X that evening, saying that the government of the Republic of Somaliland extends its sincere congratulations to President Lai on his official visit to Eswatini, which will be his first visit to Africa since taking office.
