Mogadishu, Somalia -- Somali government forces, backed by South West State's Darwish troops, killed more than 35 al-Shabaab fighters in a joint operation near Baidoa, officials said Thursday.

A press statement on Thursday issued by Somali Federal Gov’t has given full details of the fierce fighting that occurred in between Daynuunay settlement and Baidoa. The statement further said that the Somali troops inflicted heavy casualties on Al-Shabab militants.
