- The company highlighted that Medline announced his retirement earlier this year, and St‑Laurent is praised as a key to long-term value, according to the board.
- With 34 years at Empire, Pierre St‑Laurent most recently served as Chief Operating Officer and held roles across finance, distribution and logistics, retail operations and merchandising.
- Mr. Medline will remain with the company for a number of weeks to assist the transition and will retire before the end of the year, while St‑Laurent will serve as CEO of the Sobeys subsidiary and join Empire board of directors.
