MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUG 2 – Three girls aged 7 to 13 died after a barge struck their sailboat during a Miami sailing camp; the Coast Guard is investigating the accident's cause.
- On Monday, a barge struck a sailboat near Hibiscus Island in Biscayne Bay, resulting in the death of 7-year-old Mila Yankelevich and the injury of 13-year-old Erin Victoria Ko.

- The Miami Yacht Club announced that on Sunday, the family of Arielle Buchman said she succumbed to injuries from last week's crash, and an 8-year-old was released after critical hospital treatment.
- The Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Yankelevich and Ko died by accidental drowning, with the boat captain’s toxicology test coming back negative, after Ko’s funeral on Friday.
