Comedian Marcello Hernández to Host 2026 ESPY Awards
On Wednesday, ESPN announced that Saturday Night Live star Marcello Hernández will host the 2026 ESPYS on July 15 from the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City, airing live at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
After more than 25 years in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, the awards show marks a 'historic homecoming' to New York. Originally launched in 1993, the ceremony returns to its roots in Manhattan.
Hernández recently completed his fourth season on SNL and is an avid sports fan who played soccer at John Carroll University. His hosting role follows his January release of the Netflix comedy special American Boy, a Top 10 global hit.
The 2026 ESPYS Presented by Capital One features a star-studded roster of athletes and celebrities. Co-produced by ESPN, Full Day Productions, and Fanatics Studios, the event streams next day on Hulu and the ESPN App.
Hernández joins previous hosts including Jimmy Kimmel and Serena Williams as the show continues raising funds for the V Foundation for Cancer Research, founded by basketball coach Jim Valvano in 1993.
