The Smokehouse of the Catskills, a widely popular butcher shop at 724 state Route 212, is seen on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025. The shop is set to open under new ownership by Joe Ferraro, his son Jim Ferraro, John Roessner and Jana Blazicek, who also own the Saugerties-based manufacturing firm Elna Magnetics located on Malden Turnpike. Saugerties butcher shop to reopen with new ownership

You can’t keep a good smokehouse down. After longtime Smokehouse of the Catskills owners Mike and Heidi Ferraro retired in September of 2024, the future of the popular Saugerties butcher shop on Route 212 was uncertain.
