Smart glasses maker Even Realities hits $1B valuation with $150M funding led by Meituan, Tencent

The round was led by Meituan and previous backer Tencent as the startup’s display-first, camera-free glasses gained traction in overseas markets.

  • On Monday, Shenzhen-based startup Even Realities Technology raised $150 million in a pre-Series B funding round led by Meituan and Tencent, achieving a $1 billion valuation.
  • Founded by former Apple engineer Will Wang, the startup differentiates its flagship G2 smart glasses by excluding cameras to prioritize user privacy, positioning the product as an alternative to Meta Platform's camera-equipped models.
  • More than half of Even Realities' user base is located in the United States, the company said, and the startup has sold more than 10,000 units with average orders reaching roughly $1,000 including prescription lenses and the companion ring.
  • Even Realities will use the fresh capital to develop its next-generation smart glasses platform, deepen AI integration, and scale global operations to accelerate product innovation.
  • Global shipments of smart glasses are expected to double to 50 million units by 2030, positioning Even Realities to capture growth among professional users preferring display-first, camera-free wearable computing.
