Coroner IDs inmate found dead at Dorchester County jail

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – An inmate who was found dead at the Dorchester County Detention Center has been identified. Nathaniel Witherspoon, 71, of Charleston, was found unresponsive in his cell at the time of uniform change around 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brouthers.
