A man was shot and killed in the riverbed behind a local park in Montebello Tuesday night, July 18. Authorities had not yet identified the victim or revealed the motive behind the shooting. Police, checking on a 5:17 p.m. call about gunfire in the riverbed behind Grant Rea Park in the 600 block of Rea Drive, found the man, a Sheriff’s Department statement said. He died at a hospital. A man was found shot to death in a riverbed next to a Montebello park Tuesday afternoon. The man, whose name and age have not been disclosed, was found in the Rio Hondo riverbed behind Grand Rea Park, located at 600 Rea Drive, at about 5:15 p.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
