Recent GPS signal disruptions affecting aircraft and ships near the Lithuanian seaport of Klaipėda are linked to Russia's efforts to shield its Kaliningrad exclave from potential airstrikes, Saulius Skvernelis, the speaker of the Lithuanian parliament, said on Tuesday.
The National Communications Authority (Nkom) has recently uncovered manipulation of GPS signals at much lower altitudes than previously in Sør-Varanger.
Spoofing – that is, manipulation – of GPS signals down to an altitude of 150 meters in the airspace over Eastern Finnmark has been discovered. The signals come from Russia.
