A ski tourer was seriously injured in an avalanche on the Große Kesselspitze mountain near Obertauern in Salzburg early Sunday afternoon. The man was with four companions and was the first to enter a slope, triggering a slab avalanche approximately 60 meters wide and 300 meters long. He was buried so deeply that only his hand was visible above the snow. His companions were therefore able to quickly locate and dig him out.
