't Populiertje preschool in Zuun is collaborating with the Sint-Pieters-Leeuw library on the Luisterhelden (Listening Heroes) project. They aim to make reading aloud fun and accessible, even for parents who don't speak Dutch. Central to the project are 32 special backpacks that preschoolers can borrow. Each backpack contains a book, games, and a pen that can read the books aloud, allowing children and parents to practice Dutch together.
