- Early Tuesday, a sinkhole at Coastal Grand Mall swallowed a car while the driver escaped unharmed, after a water main broke overnight near Harrelson Boulevard.
- The city of Myrtle Beach said the collapse followed a broken six-inch water main near Horry County's RIDE III construction site, and the water was shut off before the car was removed from the sinkhole.
- Myrtle Beach police arrived at Seaboard Street and Harrelson Boulevard around 4:30 a.m. to find a car submerged in a sinkhole.
- The South Carolina Department of Transportation asked drivers to avoid the work zone as officials work to reopen the road after Tuesday's sinkhole.
