‘Silence is not an option’: Mamata extends support to INDIA bloc's Nov-1 ‘Chalo Dilli Ramlila March’
On Thursday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee backed the INDIA bloc's November 1 rally at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan, joining Rahul Gandhi in opposing alleged electoral irregularities.
Concerns regarding EVMs, voter data, and electoral rolls drive the protest, as opposition leaders argue these issues threaten the integrity of the counting process.
Gandhi urged citizens to join the "Chalo Dilli Ramlila March", describing it as a non-partisan effort "to save democracy, to stop vote theft, to save the Constitution".
Opposition leaders plan a mock parliament on Friday, during which they intend to symbolically "impeach" Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge met INDIA bloc MPs on Thursday to prepare for the rally, as Banerjee stated the bloc remains united in its fight to "defend our democracy and save our Constitution".
