Shuswap construction company fined $11K for fatal incident at worksite

WorkSafeBC said the excavator’s lockout lever was not engaged and cited multiple high-risk safety failures after the worker’s death.

A Shuswap construction company was fined $11,613 for a fatal workplace incident. The fine was issued June 9 to Mounce Construction Ltd. following a WorkSafeBC investigation of an incident at the firm’s worksite.
