- On Monday, Major League Baseball announced that Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani leads all players in early All-Star Game voting with 1,165,133 votes ahead of the July 14 contest at Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park.
- Ohtani, 31, leads all MLB players in Wins Above Replacement at 5.6 bWAR while maintaining a 1.06 ERA on the mound and slashing.302/.427/.508 with 14 home runs and 41 RBIs as a hitter.
- Beyond Ohtani, the Dodgers could place four players in the National League starting lineup, with third baseman Max Muncy , first baseman Freddie Freeman , and outfielder Andy Pages leading their positions.
- Houston Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez tops American League voting with 1.02 million votes, while Dodgers manager Dave Roberts will lead the National League team against Blue Jays manager John Schneider.
- Phase 1 of All-Star Game voting remains open through June 25, when top vote-getters receive automatic starting spots, before Phase 2 begins June 29 to determine the remaining roster positions.
