SONOMA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, JUL 14 – Van Gisbergen tied Jeff Gordon's record with three consecutive road course wins from pole and led a race-high 97 laps at Sonoma Raceway, marking his fourth career NASCAR Cup victory.
- On July 13 at Sonoma Raceway, Shane van Gisbergen led 97 of 110 laps to win the Toyota/Save Mart 350.
- Following wins in Mexico City and Chicago, his third straight road course win from the pole continued a streak that tied Jeff Gordon’s record this year.
- There were six cautions—three in the final 13 laps—and he led a race-high 97 laps with a Stage 2 win; `I never played basketball against Michael Jordan in his prime, but I feel like that’s probably what it was like`, Chase Briscoe said.
- His victory moves him into third in the NASCAR Cup Series playoff standings, joining Bell, Hamlin and Larson as the only drivers with three wins this season.
