Shane Deitz Ends Tenure as West Indies Women’s Head Coach
- On Tuesday, Cricket West Indies announced former West Indies men's Test head coach Andre Coley as interim head coach of the West Indies Women's team ahead of their upcoming Pakistan series.
- Coley replaces Shane Deitz, whose tenure concluded on October 31, 2026, with CWI confirming the departure was 'mutually agreed' upon by both parties.
- Under Deitz, the Maroon Warriors reached consecutive ICC Women's T20 World Cup semi-finals in 2024 and 2026. "Shane took this team to two World Cup semi-finals in a row, and that is now the standard this group holds itself to," CWI Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe said.
- Coley brings extensive experience from the West Indies Men's A-Team and previously led the West Indies men's team at the 2010 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where they finished third.
- Preparation for the upcoming Pakistan series continues without interruption as Coley works alongside existing support staff to lead the team during this assignment.
