Opening of an investigation for "sexual abuse" during medical evenings at the University of Tours

A criminal investigation was opened on Monday 24 March into "bizuring offences", and in particular VSS, during evenings of medical students from the University of Tours, announced the prosecutor's office on Thursday.

According to one report, "characterized acts of hazing, humiliating or degrading acts and unconsented sexual intercourse" were committed between October 2023 and September 2024.

Two days after the announcement by the President of the University of a new report on gender-based and sexual violence committed during evenings of integration into the Faculty of Medicine of Tours, the Attorney-General of the Republic Catherine Sorita-Minard states that she has opened a preliminary criminal investigation on Monday, 24 March.
