Sex crimes by foreign nationals surge
- Sexual offences committed by migrants in Britain increased by over 60 percent in four years, according to the Ministry of Justice data reported by the Daily Telegraph.
- In 2024, migrants accounted for 14.1 percent of sexual offence convictions, equating to about one in seven, MoJ data shows.
- Convictions for sex offences by foreign nationals rose to 1,114 from 687 between 2021 and 2024, while convictions for British citizens increased from 4,409 to 6,142 during the same period.
- Calls for better data transparency on crimes by nationality have grown, with the government promising to provide detailed figures by the end of 2025.
