Difficult weather and slippery snow the reason behind Saturday's mass crashes
Over 130 people were taken to hospital on Saturday after difficult weather and slippery snow caused two mass collisions on the E4 and E18 in Uppland. The Swedish Transport Administration's press officer Bengt Olsson is now warning motorists to adapt their driving when setting out in the winter weather. – The only thing you know is that the road conditions will not be the same when you set out as when you arrive, says Bengt Olsson.

Until midnight, the Swedish Transport Administration worked to make the roads passable after the mass crashes in Enköping and Uppsala in which more than 100 people were taken to hospital. The weather is better on Sunday, but there can be a lot of sports holiday traffic on the roads. “Be sure to slow down and keep a greater distance,” says Bengt Olsson, press manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.

Almost a hundred vehicles, both cars and trucks, were involved in the mass crash on the E18 between Enköping and Bålsta. Many injured people were taken to hospital. The police's own drone images show how many vehicles were completely destroyed.
