Seven & i Holdings, a Japanese retail group that manages, among others, the global Seven-Eleven chain of stores, announced on Saturday that it has withdrawn from its investment in the Żabka Group, but is still looking for business opportunities in Europe.
Japanese retail giant Seven & i Holdings has withdrawn from plans to invest in the Żabka Group. The company failed to reach an agreement with the selling party on the terms of the transaction, although it still declares its interest in expanding on the Old Continent.
Seven & i Holdings announced on the 25th that it has decided against investing in Żapka Group, Poland's largest convenience store chain, which it had been considering. The investment could have amounted to several hundred billion yen, but "in discussions with the seller of the shares, we have prioritized the interests of our stakeholders…"
