Hours before the Tennessee Valley Authority asked customers of its local utilities to use less electricity, operators took the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant completely offline to address malfunctions, according to reports from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
The nuclear power plant Atucha II went out of service for about 10 days last night. The company that operates these generators, Nucleoelectrica (NASA), reported that total paralysis is necessary to face repairs on the top of the reactor.
