Slovenian Day Without Food Waste, April 24th – a day that reminds us that we must treat food responsibly, thoughtfully and respectfully. Food is a valuable commodity, the production and distribution of which requires natural resources, labor and energy – and yet it still too often ends up in the trash. In Slovenia, we throw away more than 150,000 tons of food per year, almost half of which is in households.
According to a study by the company Too Good To Go, more than half of consumers find product labeling confusing or insufficient in relation to expiration dates.
