Police Searching for 2 Suspects in Ohio Festival Shooting
Authorities said the victims ranged from 14 to 61, and several were in critical condition as officers searched for two suspects.
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, a mass shooting occurred at the Old West End Festival in Toledo, Ohio, when gunfire erupted in a dense crowd and injured 12 people.
The investigation remains a "very active investigation," Toledo Police Chief Michael Troendle said, noting the violence stemmed from a dispute between two rival groups and detectives have recovered two firearms.
Of the 12 victims, nine have been released from the hospital, and all 12 victims, aged 14 to 61, are expected to survive, according to Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz.
Organizers canceled the remainder of the Old West End Festival following the violence, and "Our heart is broken, and it will take time," Kapszukiewicz said, promising the community that perpetrators will be held accountable.
Reflecting on the 174th mass shooting in the United States this year, Kapszukiewicz noted local conversations regarding event security and expressed interest in organizing a future festival to unite the community.
