Seahawks Place RB Jadarian Price on IR
The rookie running back faces a mandatory four-game absence due to a chest injury after recording 119 rushing yards on 28 carries this season.
On Saturday, the Seattle Seahawks placed rookie running back Jadarian Price on injured reserve with a chest injury, sidelining him for at least four games. The team signed Velus Jones Jr. from the practice squad to fill the roster spot.
Price, a first-round draft pick, aggravated the chest injury during practice on Wednesday after initially sustaining it in Week 2. His struggles with ball security—losing fumbles in each of the past two weeks—contributed to his reduced workload before the injury forced the move.
Emanuel Wilson and George Holani are expected to lead the Seahawks' backfield in Price's absence, while Jones provides depth as the third running back for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers at Lumen Field.
Coach Mike Macdonald confirmed that Zach Charbonnet returned to practice Thursday off the physically unable to perform list but remains ineligible to play until next week. "There's a process to get him physically and mentally ready to go," Macdonald said.
Fantasy managers should target Emanuel Wilson as a replacement, available in more than 65 percent of leagues. The Seahawks face the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday before their subsequent matchups against other divisional opponents.
