Only a few knew that Simona Mohamsson (L) was about to make a move on the SD issue. For a couple of weeks, top politicians within L and SD have been in secret meetings to come up with the agreement that has now been presented. – I feel that we came to an agreement quite quickly, says Jimmie Åkesson (SD).
The Liberals and the Sweden Democrats have today chosen to enter into a new cooperation agreement. The agreement provides a solution to the government issue.
The Liberals are turning the corner and now want to sit in the same government as the Sweden Democrats. Liberals and SD have signed an agreement on issues where they agree. – SD is a constructive party and we need to be able to find cooperation even after the next election, says Liberal leader Simona Mohamsson.
In Sweden, L and SD have agreed to sit in government together if the Tidö parties win the election this fall. This means that L has dropped its previous red line against SD. Criticism of the decision comes from several quarters.
