ScotRail celebrates its 40th birthday, with Inverclyde featured in operator's history
ScotRail was launched on September 22, 1983 as part of an initiative to make rail travel more competitive with cars and buses. It has been serving routes in Inverclyde and across the country since, with trains now calling at 359 stations. Over the past 40 years, a total of 81 new or reopened stations have been added to the network.
