Schmitt feels optimistic on upcoming vote for Protect College Sports Act
U.S. Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., is optimistic about the upcoming Senate vote on the Protect College Sports Act, which he co-sponsors.
The bill aims to stabilize college athletics by regulating eligibility, transfers, and revenue sharing to address recent chaos in the sport.
Schmitt said the bill will be the second considered in September and believes it has enough support to pass.
The act would limit student-athletes to one unrestricted transfer, with additional transfers requiring a sit-out season, and provide antitrust protection to enforce such rules.
